I love reading newspapers

I am genuinely sad about the imminent death of the printed format. I love reading newspapers. I love their smell, their feel to the touch, the printed letters on the paper, and the colors that won't damage my eyes. Almost everything about the printed format is superior, in my opinion, and it's a damn sad thought to know that this format, along with all the other physical formats, is doomed to disappear, displaced by technology wearing the costume of "development." I understand that this is a limitation in my knowledge, and I am not trying to imply that there aren't negative consequences associated with paper production. But I am also not willing to accept that this is the major impact on the environment when the "solution" capitalism has to offer consists of pieces of disposable tech filled with lithium, metals, and other toxic substances that were also extracted from nature, ge...

Tulancingo and Acaxochitlán, Hidalgo

I am currently waiting at the terminal for the bus back to my city after a couple of days of hiking in the mountains of these two cities. I feel more accomplished than I have in a long time, and it’s a wonderful feeling, even though it’s mixed with an unprecedented level of tiredness. It was an amazing experience, filled with new sights, new people, and countless learning op...

It was enjoyable at times, but nerve-wracking as well, because I don't feel at ease when I perceive myself as "non-productive" while being paid. That's just a quirk, though. Those seven days will be, hopefully, my last break from this hobby. The silver lining for now is the fact that I got the economics and the time slot approved to start my trips around my country. At the beginning, it will be a really calm plan, going to a state close to mine, trying to sleep in hostels, eating local street food, and trying to catch as many natural spots as possible. Hiking and walking will be the majority of the plan, and I need to be ready to walk long distances and deal with the dirt that comes with it. Sounds amazing. Maybe as I grow and gain experience traveling along, ...
