My first local trip of the year

I've been completely absorbed in the celebrations of the New Year. My job contributed fully to this event because it has been the calmest and emptiest period I've experienced in my four months with them. It was enjoyable at times, but nerve-wracking as well, because I don't feel at ease when I perceive myself as "non-productive" while being paid. That's just a quirk, though. Those seven days will be, hopefully, my last break from this hobby.

The silver lining for now is the fact that I got the economics and the time slot approved to start my trips around my country. At the beginning, it will be a really calm plan, going to a state close to mine, trying to sleep in hostels, eating local street food, and trying to catch as many natural spots as possible. Hiking and walking will be the majority of the plan, and I need to be ready to walk long distances and deal with the dirt that comes with it. Sounds amazing. Maybe as I grow and gain experience traveling along, I will start to try longer and further destinies. But I need to start somehow.

My old and trustworthy courier backpack will be the chosen one for this very first adventure. I will be traveling for two days and one night, so I don't really need to carry a lot other than a change of upper clothes, water, and a snack. I'm still missing a good pair of comfortable pants that can withstand dirt and heavy usage, but today is the "organizational" period before starting tomorrow morning, so I have time to arrange those. I think I just need to buy the pants, and I am all set; certainly an inexpensive trip.

I asked my best friend to come along, and it may happen. This could be our first time going anywhere other than our houses, so I think it would be cool to have him along. However, the plan and ambitions that I have for these short and flash trips are to avoid logistics and "bringing your kids" as much as possible, so hopefully, he jumps on board with a clear head and some cojones because the plan is not moving nor stalling for anyone.

I have some plans to make a video about these adventures and to take a ton of photos along the way. So here's to coming back in one piece with a load of memories in the form of photos and videos, and some cool experiences with my friend. Hopefully, this is the first of a series of trips that I want to make locally this whole year.
